NFL 2012 Conference Predictions

TKN's last week accuracy: 2-2 (50.00%)
Billy's last week accuracy: 2-2 (50.00%)
AFS's* last week accuracy: 4-0 (100.00%)

TKN's Overall 2012 accuracy: 172-92 (65.15%)
Billy's Overall 2012 accuracy: 161-103 (60.98%)
AFS's* Overall 2012 accuracy: 168-96 (63.63%)
*American Football Simulator averages of 2,000 simulations.

The places are now clinched with three games to go since I have a four-game lead over the AFS, which has a 7-game lead over Billy. Still, the AFS had an impressive divisional round, going 4-0 while we went 2-2. The AFS predicted the weekend's largest upsets, picking the Ravens over the Broncos and the 49ers over the Pack. Lets see if we can all improve our records in the Conference Championships, shall we?

Baltimore Ravens (12-6) @ New England Patriots (13-4)
TheKillerNacho: The Ravens upset the Broncos, and while I fully believe they could also upset the Patriots, I see the Patriots as the best team in the league right now. I expect Tom Brady to come out and beat the Ravens, as he did last year.
Baltimore 23, New England 27

Billy:
Baltimore 29, New England 27

American  Football Simulator:
Baltimore 25, New England 24

San Francisco 49ers (12-4-1) @ Atlanta Falcons (14-3)
TheKillerNacho: This should be a really good game, and I'm up in the air who I should pick. The Niners are the hottest team right now, but the Falcons are the more complete team. But they may be up for a let-down after their first playoff win under Mike Smith... I'll go with the 49ers.

NFL 2012 Divisional Predictions

TKN's last week accuracy: 4-0 (100.00%)
Billy's last week accuracy: 3-1 (75.00%)
AFS's* last week accuracy: 3-1 (75.00%)

TKN's Overall 2012 accuracy: 170-90 (65.38%)
Billy's Overall 2012 accuracy: 159-101 (61.15%)
AFS's* Overall 2012 accuracy: 164-96 (63.08%)
*American Football Simulator averages of 2,000 simulations.

After Week 16, I'm still leading by 5 games over the AFS. Billy is 5 games behind the AFS. There's still the playoffs however... could the playoffs mess things up badly?

Baltimore Ravens (11-6) @ Denver Broncos (13-3)
TheKillerNacho: I suppose we'll find out on Sunday if Peyton Manning's struggles in the playoffs continue... but I'd say they shouldn't. The Broncos have one of the best defenses in the league, and one of the best Quarterbacks.
Baltimore 20, Denver 30

Billy:
Baltimore 24, Denver 47

American  Football Simulator:
Baltimore 24, Denver 22

Houston Texans (13-4) @ New England Patriots (12-4)
TheKillerNacho: Houston's run stops here, in my opinion. The Texans have stalled in the later weeks, and that included a struggle last week to beat the Bengals. The Patriots are much better than the Bengals, and are at home. Brady easily takes this one.
Houston 24, New England 31

Billy:
Houston 27, New England 38

American  Football Simulator:
Houston 24, New England 26

Green Bay Packers (12-5) @ San Francisco 49ers (11-4-1)
TheKillerNacho: I think the playoffs is where the inexperience of Colin Kaepernick is going to hurt them. These teams have changed so much since their Week 1 matchup, and I think Green Bay is overall the better team right now.
Green Bay 27, San Francisco 23

Billy:
Green Bay 31, San Francisco 26

American Football Simulator:
Green Bay 23, San Francisco 24

Seattle Seahawks (12-5) @ Atlanta Falcons (13-3)
TheKillerNacho: I'm going to regret this later, but I'm going with the Falcons. The Falcons are the more complete team and are playing at home, while the Seahawks are forced to go on the road (where they've struggled). Having said that, it wouldn't surprise me in the slightest for the Falcons to be one and done again.

NFL 2012 Wildcard Power Rankings and Predictions

Sorry for the late and abridged post... been really busy this week, so I'll only rank the 12 playoff teams at this point.

1. Denver Broncos
2. New England Patriots
3. Atlanta Falcons
4. San Francisco 49ers
5. Houston Texans
6. Green Bay Packers
7. Seattle Seahawks
8. Baltimore Ravens
9. Washington Redskins
10. Minnesota Vikings
11. Indianapolis Colts
12. Cincinnati Bengals

Predictions for Next Week

TKN's last week accuracy: 11-5 (68.75%)
Billy's last week accuracy: 11-5 (68.75%)
AFS's* last week accuracy: 10-6 (62.50%)

TKN's Overall 2012 accuracy: 166-90 (64.84%)
Billy's Overall 2012 accuracy: 156-100 (60.94%)
AFS's* Overall 2012 accuracy: 161-95 (62.89%)
*American Football Simulator averages of 2,000 simulations.

After Week 16, I'm still leading by 5 games over the AFS. Billy is 5 games behind the AFS. There's still the playoffs however... could the playoffs mess things up badly?

Cincinnati Bengals (10-6) @ Houston Texans (12-4)
TheKillerNacho: The Texans' loss to the Colts last week was the difference between a first round bye & homefield advantage and having to play a wildcard game. Now, they must play a rematch from last year's Wildcard round against a hot Bengals team. I'm still going with the Texans but... they've been downright disappointing recently.
Cincinnati 17, Houston 24

Billy:
Cincinnati 21, Houston 34

American  Football Simulator:
Cincinnati 21, Houston 27

Indianapolis Colts (11-5) @ Baltimore Ravens (10-6)
TheKillerNacho: I still think the Colts' record is heavily inflated at 11-5, and they are playing their first playoff game against a defense that should be better now that Ray Lewis is back. It will be a tough matchup to win for the rookie Andrew Luck, making his first playoff start. While the trend may say take the Colts over the Ravens, I'm going with the Ravens in this one...
Indianapolis 24, Baltimore 26

Billy:
Indianapolis 19, Baltimore 23

American  Football Simulator:
Indianapolis 19, Baltimore 27

Minnesota Vikings (10-6) @ Green Bay Packers (11-5)
TheKillerNacho: I said it last week - In order for the Vikings to advance, they must defeat the Packers twice in a row. This time the game is at Lambeau. I still doubt the Vikings can beat the Pack twice in a row. Call me a hater, but I'll pick the home team.
Minnesota 23, Green Bay 27

Billy:
Minnesota 30, Green Bay 43

American Football Simulator:
Minnesota 21, Green Bay 26

Seattle Seahawks (11-5) @ Washington Redskins (10-6)
TheKillerNacho: Seattle is red-hot right now. Yes, this is a road game and Seattle has had their struggles on the road this year, but they've blown their opponents out in the later quarter of the season. With Washington's defense being pretty soft due to injuries, I think the NFC East champion Redskins will fall early in these playoffs.
Seattle 29, Washington 27

Billy:
Seattle 24, Washington 28

American Football Simulator:
Seattle 22, Washington 23
